Jake Tapper defends Senator Barack Obama's staff.
Oddly, he's defending them from Senator Barack Obama.

[Whoops! H/T Instapundit]
This will do for quote of the day: it's the culmination of an entertaining little post about the number of times that the junior Senator from Illinois has courageously explained how a particular gaffe, mistake, lie, oopsie, and/or omission was clearly the responsibility of a staff member* (he counts 14, and the primary's not even over yet). Tapper can't help but speak truth to power, here:
And for the record, yet again, let me state that I find Sen. Obama's staff unfailingly competent and polite, courteous and efficient, and I once again express my regret that Sen. Obama does apparently not feel the same way.
I'm not going to even try to beat that one, Jake.

"As president," he said, "I bear sole responsibility."
...oops. Oh, well, it's not like progressives read history anyway.

Obama has a very competent staff that takes the blame.

Not that you can check, of course, given how often he blames it on some anonymous drone.
The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!
Jake Tapper has done some very good (and very rare) objective reporting on the Obama campaign.

and remarkable. One day after Newsweek published a piece about how well oiled a machine the Obama campaign is, Tapper writes that a plethora of mistakes have been blamed on his staff and that he has let go of 14 staffers.
Which one is it, the Tapper version or the Newsweek version because they appear to tell opposite stories.
